Animal Print. Leopard Print. A new neutral. It co-ordinates and clashes with everything beautifully. I can’t get enough of it.
Last winter I missed the boat with getting a pair of leopard print boots… faffing for too long to find ones that were just so. With the heel just the right height, toe shape, colour.
I was on it this year. August. A kitten heeled pair with a pointed toe. Job done. Or was it?
A coat too? There are some amazing coats out there, and shoes, and accessories if you don’t want to go all the way. And dresses.
And… oh lets get on with it.
H&M & £79.99 This looks much more expensive than it is.
A paler super luxurious version from French Connection, £210.00 I love how this is styled – super casual and low key.
A Coatigan in greys from Next £40.00
An easy throw on piece.
& Other Stories – a cocoon coat £155.00
A more masculine tailored version from M&S £69.00 This is a great slim fitting coat, smart for work, but easily dressed down for weekends.
So if a coat feels too full on or veering too close to Bet Lynch – how about a scarf? From Hush a cashmere version – dreamy, £159.00
One of the only animal prints but in an alternative colour items I found (& liked)…
Lily & Lionel, £200.00. (This design is amongst many alternative animal print versions on the website; talk about spoilt for choice.)
A large square silky satin scarf with colour pop border detailing, Mango £19.99. Great as a neck-a-chief or tied around a handbag handle.
Bags etc.
Whistles have this great wristlet clutch bag, £65.00. Timeless.
From M&S, Milly leather shoulder bag £89.00.
This is gorgeous – love the shape. Hush Anais bag £110.00 and big enough to get loads of ‘stuff’ in.
So if you can’t quite see yourself wearing animal print out in the open… something for inside your bag; this make-up bag from Topshop could do the job, £16.00
Or, a belt perhaps? M&S faux leather £9.50. Winner.
Oh if you insist, lets look at some fabulous shoes and boots. This first pair are not for the faint-hearted… Topshop £39.00 – these tick the animal print box, and stud-detail box and walkable all dayable. Done.
I would like the reason to own these… don’t seem to have quite enough social engagements to justify right now, but ughh. Love. Boden Alexa £150.00
Block heels – wear all day. Boden £140.00. Beautiful.
From Air & Grace, Copeland £159.00 I’ve heard nothing but good things about this brand; some time soon I will own some.
An easier on the purse pair from Autograph at M&S, £49.00
From Gap £64.95 – I love these… with boyfriend jeans. I’d never normally go for this style shoe, too girly/grown up for me. But these, in Leopard. I’ll take ’em. Thanks.
So where does that leave us actual clothes wise? Well, I’ve scoured to find the best outerwear and accessories, but have sometimes found that some of the actual clothing items are perhaps too loud (for me)… the print might be too big, or too bright or then the shape of the garments a bit meh.
This is a new brand to me, Sweats.co £49.00. This is my kind of thing, love it – black with a dash of leopard…
And then there’s the one… the dress.
Some friends of mine are kindly getting married in February… a winter wedding!! Grandma is already booked. This dress, OTK or knee high boots. Yes please and thank you.
So are you embracing the Leopard? There is enough out there that means you can go full on, dip a toe in. Magic.
