I aspire to be organised and to have everything in place for every eventuality; I’m still working on that aspect of being a grown up.
Because this is Britain, it is in out DNA to be obsessed with the weather, with good reason. I have a ‘waterproof’ jacket. I took it around the world with me. It has but one duty which is to come camping with me. Other than that, I’m really not keen.
I have friends that wear raincoats and look stylish. I seem to just wear normal stuff, carry an umbrella, get soggy and grumble. I know, I know, if I invested in a decent rain coat I’d be more inclined to wear it and therefore not suffer the indignity of perpetual sogginess every time it rains.
So, er, in digging deep, (I can do this, I can do this) something like this rain coat could also be useful… (in truth I far prefer the models stunning hair, grumble grumble.)
Zara Packable raincoat £49.99
Zara Packable raincoat £29.99
Or, this… like is a strong word, but, I do sort of like this… OK, I’d wear this, I said it. (There are countless colours available on the website as well.)
Ilse Jacobson Black Raincoat £110
Not everything I’m selecting is black, honest. Protected Species are top notch in terms of rain/water proof wear. And dare I say it; stylish – I can definitely see a reason to invest.
Protected Species Waterproof Commuter £179
As with some of the others shown, I like the dipped back hem.
John Lewis Seasalt Plant Hunter Raincoat £150
A little bit of disco?
Rains Short Coat £89
Personally, I’m less about a jazzy print on a raincoat, I’m not four… but due to the animal/leopard print phase we’ve been through – this works, again I could do this….
Hush Freya Printed Rain Mac £125
Something warm – I can see the appeal of this.
ASOS DESIGN Tall Maxi rain coat with borg lining £60
Finally, a little bit of flasher-mac sauciness… but holographic – DING!!
Rains Holographic Overcoat £139
So what do you wear to keep dry, do you ‘rain coat’ or just umbrella and hope for the best? Have I persuaded you, if you too are/were like me that perhaps, possibly, maybe investing in decent raincoat, you might actually wear it… and stay dry and have less cause to grumble?
Let me know! x
