Slippers, worthy of Cinderella

So many many firsts this year aren’t there? I never ever would have imagined that I would even contemplate a blogpost about slippers. I’m not sitting comfortably writing it – but here we are, at home, much much more. I’m sat here with bare feet, and… well, my toes are cold – so my default thought is to have a look at what’s out there that I might contemplate, and, then think if I’m in need of something maybe you are as well?

Sales of all things comfort have rocketed throughout this pandemic – whether sweat pants, hoodies or non wired, ideally, multi tasking bras that one could. if one had the urge, work out in AND just wear as a bra type garment.

But now as autumn is setting in and we’re in doors a whole lot more, the need to be cosy and warm is way higher on the must-have list.

In a what was tier-1 (lowest risk?) situation three girl firiends and I got together as a possible last hurrah to catch up and put the world to rights in the way you do… the hostess had the mostess glam pair of slippers on. At the time I couldn’t partake of the conversation so horrified that the discussion was so seemingly AT LENGTH ABOUT SLIPPERS. What had we become??????

But things change, and now… well. I think I might have to give into it… just wearing socks about the place is too slippy. So, almost begrudingly. and then intriguingly this is a round up of… slippers. (Sob.)

I don’t live this life. I used to work in a world that sold this life, so I sort of wanted to live this life, in truth I’m too knackered now and the practical side of me asks whether I could take the recycling out in them… I’d like to think I could, but…. but look at these beauties… OK, they may not be reality but…

So the reality is, I might struggle with the emptying the recycling with the above slippers, but needing to stay with the fluffy mule slipper (the fashion singular can still apply to…. slippers, I think?)… These might be slightly more practical…

Staying with the leather aspect, years ago, pre-kids and when the world could travel Mr E-E and I went to Marrakesh, in the souks I bought similar leather slippers to these in red, when ever friends would visit I’d beg them to buy me more; I wore them until they were no more… suddenly I’m very interested in them again. Just LOOK at the colours! And these are the tip of the iceberg from this company..

Years ago I had some slipper boots, they did a good job for a winter, but did get to the stage where I think they could walk by themselves. Gulp. These are lovely, substantial and with a useful sole.
