Well, not dot.com as such, but… this is all about The Puffer Coat. Which I think, possibly from a warmth perspective could be our best friend for the next however many months.
Pretty much all of us are facing a period ahead where we can’t see loved ones inside our homes for the foreseeable, other than, if we so choose, the potential 5 day grace period at the end of December. So meeting outside and walking in parks and the like, or maybe door step drinks it is.
We’ve done thermals & layers and keeping cosy, we’ll probably do scarves and accessories soon, but in the mean time, Puffer Coats/Puffer Jackets… (when does a jacket become a coat? It’s a mystery to me – I had perhaps thought of it to do with the length, but seemingly not, I may need to call a friend who would know for clarification).
From a puffer coat I want something that is very much bottom covering if a park bench or garden chair is likely to be involved. Draughts are not acceptable. Therefore, I’ve gone for longer length options. There is a great amount of choice it would appear in terms of colour and even some prints. I can’t help it, of course I’m still drawn to black… but also the really pale shades. Have a look, see what you think…
I love a serious collar, and in this case hood situation.
Next Emma Willis Long Padded Jacket £85

This is the same coat as above, but in neutral.
Next Emma Willis Long Padded Jacket £85

I keep looking at this one – I love the collar – in my mind the high draught-reducing collar gives instant glamour. (Just add sunshine and sunglasses – tres fabulous.)
Monki Button-up puffa coat £65

I love this. In black again, but longer… ooh and another high collar.
& Other Stories Oversized Boxy Long Puffer Jacket £175

This looks a serious Puffer Coat situation. This is a great colour, and it’s also available in Black and Khaki. This coat is filled with 100% recycled down and feathers. And has a two-way front zip for easy access.
Arket Long Down Puffer Coat £225

I tend to think of Uniqlo as a go-to place for all things down/puffer/padded and gear for seriously cold wear. This is coat is available in four colours – this is the navy; it’s thin, light, super insulated and can be stuffed into a pouch.
Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Long Coat £109.90

There’s much more khaki around as well in puffer coat form – always a damn fine neutral that looks great with black or navy or…
M&S Thermowarmth Duvet Puffer Coat £99

Belted? I’d not considered a belted look/puffer coat option – I think it can ease the Michelin man feeling that one could feel…
Hush Alianna Hooded Puffer Jacket £165

And collarless… I’ve seen a few of these more quilted look puffer coats and in truth I wasn’t sure – they felt a little Countryfile. This, however, with a hoodie underneath… I very much like.
Hush Daxton Quilted Jacket £149

Quilted and collarless again. This is very gla-mour. Practical? Maybe not… but I’d like to try what lifestyle the type of woman who would buy this would lead. I loooove this whole look.
Cos Mid Length Quilted Padded Jacket £135

Paler cream. Again, not sure how practical this colour is really – but I’d give it a go. Gorgeous.
Monki Long Puffa coat £75

I’m a big fan of wine, both in liquid form and the colour in general. This is more of a cocoon shaped coat allowing for plenty of wiggle room. And mince pies.
H&M Puffer Jacket £39.99, was £49.99

A slimmer fitting puffer but still in a delicious wine shade – this has a detachable hood.
M&S Down & Feather Puffer Coat £69

Finally, I really like the high shine element of this puffer coat and think it’s rather fabulous… but not sure if the square element gives it a look of…
Asos Design TALL Longline Square quilt coat £56.25, was £75
