Sleep, or lack of it, for the the last year or so has been a reoccurring issue for so many of us I think. No matter how little, by comparison to some, or how much we’ve all been affected by what has been going on, the pandemic’s no doubt all had an enduring effect on all of our mental health and/or sleep in some way. And now, well, we’re tired in so many ways and we’ve all pretty much had enough, our batteries are low and in urgent need of re-charging, of change, of some release and joy.
Maybe from the 10 year old not being a great sleeper until he was about 6 or 7, with nights being constantly disturbed, when he finally ‘got how to sleep’, I too slept, and slept well. Going to bed exhausted and waking up marginally less so, but not having to get up in the night was the biggest of bonuses. But the last year, well, it’s taken it’s toll.
I try to go to bed at a reasonable time, and try to be calm, have a bath maybe, or read… I fall asleep… and then about 2am… I start the spin. Turning and turning and turning. Not every night, but enough. I fall out with previously favourite pj’s for spinning or not spinning with me. Sometimes I get up, pace about, sit down and revel in the silence, and then head back for bed for a few hours; when it’s time to get up it’s then only coffee that can save me (and my team from grumpy me). There have been too many times when I’ve got into bed with almost a heavy heart of here we go again, wondering whether I’ll be awake for 2-3 long hours. And yes I’ve also tried the lots of red wine to knock me out, or avoiding all of wine… bahh.
And what is going through my head when I’m awake? Who knows, none of it is full sentences of anything… but it’s just everything going through my head.
I mean, it’s just looking, but perhaps some new pj’s *might* help me stay asleep once I’m there, and keep me warm? I’m game for a look if you are.
These look particularly appealing for their slinkiness… they’re available in navy too.
Hush Angelina Jersey Pyjamas £55

I also quite like a cuffed jogger, I think they sort of stay in place (ie by my ankles) more than wider leg trousers… these are a most splendid colour and I love the contrast colour buttons.

Asos Design Tropical long sleeve shirt and trouser pyjama set in green & purple £30

Cyberjammies Hannah Ditsy Floral Print Pyjama Set £48

Or these, which are cotton modal, so super soft, but also with a little stretch.

Pure class.
Jigsaw Geo Herringbone Pyjamas £75

Hush Isla Printed Cotton Pyjamas £55

A night shirt perhaps?
M&S Cotton Sparkle Nightshirt £18

Finally. I can’t condone onesie wearing for adults. It’s wrong. Plain and simple. A jumpsuit is different, completely, obviously. This is sort of a jumpsuit for lounging and night time. They may call it a onesie but…
