Blue Wednesday or Thursday…?

Traditionally, yes, Monday is the blue one, but most of this week as felt a bit blue too. So without further a-do here are some cheery-uppy blue things to counteract the grey outside… but sit beautifully with the yellow of the daffodils currently dotted about here, inside and out.

When I’d been thinking about this post, I had been thinking I was wanting to find more cornflower/cobalt blues… but there wasn’t as much about as I was hoping for – in truth, it is more of a high summer colour in my day job, so stands to reason its the same in outerwear. But I think I was needing a jolt – espresso style – of colour. It ended up to be more navy turning my head – but with it – some fab accessories to spice things up.

First off; a jumpsuit. My safe place. Love the dark indigo and turned up leg… trainers/heels… hoops/jazzy (earrings) – a multi-tasking wardrobe essential to dress up and down.

My jazzy earring of choice might well be these… Next, £10

Next red tassel earrings £10

I’m after wardrobe pieces that can endure and be endured… these navy tie-waist from Oliver Bonas are fab, £59… there might have possibly been clearer images to select, but the yellow boots won… Yellow boots?!?!?

Oliver Bonas shape tie waist trouser £59

This fluted sleeve top, again has staple piece written all over it, H&M £12.99

H&M Flounced sleeve top £12.99

As the top is so simple, it needs a little something else doesn’t it? How about these?

This dress is stunning, effortless. Ankle boots or trainers now could keep feet warmer than sandals.

H&M £39.99

H&M striped dress £39.99

Staying with stripes, this mixed fabric tee is from Next, £18

This gold earrings could work to oomph the above tee a bit… only if oomphing was required of course.

Oliver Bonas £35

I love this jumper from Great Plains, £60… the pointelle stitch detailing. Tres chic.

Great Plains ronnie-pointelle-jumper £60

Even more stripes from Zara… flowing cropped trousers £19.99. Summery, perhaps, but worn with white trainers…

Perfect with the outfit above, would be these red sunglasses, & Other Stories £17

& Other Stories Cat-eye sunglasses £17

I don’t really wear particularly loud print-y clothes, you can see the types of clothes that I select to talk about, to a greater or lesser degree they are season-less – just requiring to layer up, and up, and sometimes up (given the weather we’ve been working with)… but in knowing my style and what I feel good in, if I’m wanting to dabble or move something on from feeling wintery to summery, and vise versa – it can sometimes, be as simple a switching up or down a scarf.

This blue colour block scarf from Zara is gorgeous, when I first saw it I thought how good it could look with a denim jacket when draughts still need to avoided… but upon clicking, I saw it with this coat… hello. Total justification of a transitional piece.

Finally, a bag can also be a smaller commitment to adding in some colour, and I know I’ve gone on about it enough… this bright blue one is from Monsoon £25. Perfect.

So what do you do to kick start the season change – is it by down grading your winter coat to layered jackets? Or brighter/lighter scarf… or switching your bag colour?
