Here comes the rain again (in London Town), falling on my head… and everywhere it would appear. Not sure how much rain there has been, but I feel Trench Foot could become a real thing, very soon.
So last winter it was all about the Hiker Boot – the lace up boot that one could ‘almost’ perceive one could climb a hill or mountain wearing, if one so desired. Yeah, But no.
This year it is very definitely the Chelsea Boot; but chunky, on steroids – pimped and pumped up to the max. As we’re talking boots (one of my weaknesses) – well, of course I’ve already bought in to it – I’ve done the ground work as it were for you…
I’ve realised with the pimped up Chelsea boot, a little time playing with proportions is needed. But, first off, I know, even despite not really being a dress/skirt wearer myself, they work super well with a midi/long dress/skirt as they immediately balance out the hardness of them. if that makes sense.
(My boots come with a soundtrack of Boxer Beat by Jo Boxers. In the name of research I’ve gone down a rabbit hole of discovery, Jo Boxers were all about the lace up DM’s of course… from when DM stood for Dr Martens not Direct Messaging… Jo Boxers were on Top of The Pops in Christmas 1983… I. Feel. So. Old.)
Here are some examples of chunky Chelsea boots from Pinterest showing how the pimped up Chelsea boot could be worn. Easy no?

So we know Chelsea boots work well with dresses, flesh baring for the brave and a skinny jean. I’m also thinking that they will work well with a cropped wide trouser… the skinniness over the ankle is balanced out by the wideness of the width of the trouser leg.
I’ve got these ones. I do like them very much. These have sold out once online already, but I was sent a notification to say when they were back in stock.

I should point out the benefit of a cleated sole (a bumpy & ridged sole) – much better grip – should it snow, or just in the wet, one will be much more stable. Theoretically.
